INTERVIEW BY ROXY BOURDILLON, IMAGE BY BLYTHE THOMAS
For our first issue of 2021 we meet international pop star, mxmtoon. With over four and a half million followers and a recent collab with Carly Rae Jepsen, she’s earned herself certified bicon status. In her chat wit DIVA’s managing editor, Roxy Bourdillon, mxmtoon opened up about internalised biphobia and her sudden rise to fame. Here’s a taster.
mxmtoon on bisexuality
“It took me a long time to accept that I was bisexual, because of, you know, internalised biphobia.”
mxmtoon on the internet
“The internet is a scary balance between wanting to put yourself out there, but also not losing sight of who you are in the process.”
mxmtoon on being an introvert
“I love interacting with people, but I don’t gain a whole lot of energy from it.”
PLUS mxmtoon reveals what she would be doing if she wasn’t an international pop star
