“The soundtrack to your quarantine daydreams of the ex you love to hate”

BY SOPHIE GRIFFITHS

Our favourite London-based indie grrrl band are back, and we can confirm that their latest offering is an absolute banger.

Love And War is an upbeat, synth-heavy breakup song to get you moving and grooving in your living room, whilst you think about how thankful you are that you didn’t end up in lockdown with your ex.

It’s got a classic 80s influence to it and, mixed with their 90s riot grrrl attitude, it becomes a dreamy and ethereal ode to the ex-girlfriend you still love to hate. You know the one we mean.

As with all of CATBEAR’s music, Love And War is fully self-produced and self-released, with recording and production taking place in Zoe’s home studio.

The independent duo said of the song: “Love And War is a reminiscence of a doomed love affair. When you knew all along it was destined to end, but there’s something magnetic, irresistible that pulls you along through it, and even at the end you can still look back fondly at the lustful wrestle towards the inevitable implosion”.

Both members of CATBEAR – Zoe Konez and Sarah Smith – are proud to be members of the LGBTQI community and they’re carving their own way into the industry with their catchy and bold lyrics all about love and lust.

We met the sassy duo back last year to chat all things music. You can check that out here.

This is their third single following on from their debut, Beast Of The Night, and the critically acclaimed Unrequited Love, and there is lots more yet to come…

DIVA is super excited to be able to premiere this brilliant track just before its release, so make sure you check it out here today!
