With a song title that couldn’t be more fitting, Emily Burns is back and her brand new pop tune is sure to lift your spirits a little during these scary times.
Terrified is a euphoric track with an energising beat to accompany Emily’s vulnerable lyrics, which deal with her fears of the future, whilst also wanting to live in the moment.
It comes as her second release of the year after her sparkling single Hello, and Emily clearly shows no signs of slowing down.
Emily said: “I wrote Terrified about not being able to enjoy the good times due to living in fear of what might happen next. It’s about that internal battle between trying to be present and worrying about the future. I guess it’s one of those ‘sounds happy’ but is actually pretty deep pop songs… which is classic me.”
Terrified certainly comes as a departure from her previous releases, with an upbeat energy that Emily hasn’t really explored in her music before, but we’re absolutely loving this track.
She’s honest and captivating and uses her musical charm to explore themes such as sexuality, loneliness and feeling vulnerable.
Emily Burns is one of the UK’s most exciting rising pop talents, receiving praise and support from BBC Radio 1, Liverpool Sound City, The Great Escape and, of course, us here at DIVA.
So far she has toured with the likes of Tove Stryke, Gabrielle Aplin and James Arthur, sold out her own headline shows in London and across Asia, and accumulated an impressive 20 million+ streams.
