The clothing company creating personalised pieces for families of all shapes and sizes

BY SOPHIE GRIFFITHS

Laura and Kelly Sibley met in London back in 2012 and went on to get married at their dream venue in the Cotswolds five years later. That same year, their journey to becoming parents began…

Laura fell pregnant the following year after a battle with fertility treatment, but it wasn’t long before the pair welcomed their baby boy Jack in August 2019. From that moment, they were officially members of the Two Mum Club.

Whilst shopping for items ready for when they both became mums, Laura and Kelly were shocked to see that there was such little clothing or products available which represented and celebrated same-sex families.

They felt there was a massive gap in the market for clothing with slogans that could represent families like theirs. No big garish designs or anything special, simply the same designs other families are able to choose from, giving same-sex parents the same options as everyone else.

That’s what sparked the idea for Two Mum Club: a clothing line for both children and adults that celebrates same-sex families and represent the LGTBQI community. Now, through Instagram and Etsy, Two Mum Club takes personalised requests for a selection of T-Shirts and hoodies.

No more swapping around vests in multi packs so that you don’t have to buy a vest that says “Daddy’ Favourite”, now you can personalise your own clothing to represent you and your family!

“We aren’t represented in mainstream shops,” Kelly told DIVA. “You can’t simply pop to your local supermarket and pick up something for your baby or child that represents them having a same-sex family. Everything within the high-street is for the conventional family set up – except we don’t live in a conventional world anymore.

“Families are made up of so many different variations now, but we don’t represent them and it’s time that we did!”
