Hosted by Stonewall Housing, this entertainment filled evening is making a difference
BY SOPHIE GRIFFITHS
Stonewall Housing are delighted to present Queerstory; a night of infotainment honouring the first LGBT+ History Month of the new decade and kicking off the 2020 queer calendar in style.
Taking place at Earth Hackney 28 February, the evening will be filled with entertainment, from film screenings, DJ’s, live performances to spoken word. There’s plenty of queer delights planned for the night.
During the evening, Queerstory will also screen BEYOND – There’s Always A Black Issue Dear, the winner in the Best of British category at Queer Vision Film Festival 2018. It’s a documentary that gives credit to the black queer people who built British nightlife and it’s not to be missed!
Afterwards you can take to the runway and strut your stuff in front of a special queer panel of judges. Enter into categories such as Legends and Legacies, Virgin Vogue and Here and Queer, and dress to impress DIVA favourite, Munroe Bergdorf, and our wonderful publisher, Linda Riley.
There will also be raffle tickets on sale throughout the evening to win some queer treats!
Stonewall Housing was the first LGBTQI charity to receive public sector funding to deliver specialist housing support back in 1983. Within 36 years they have provided six supported housing schemes, an award winning housing advice line, mental health advocacy and domestic abuse support to over 1000 people every year.
So come along and find out where Stonewall Housing is heading in the next decade, dress to impress and enjoy a night of entertainment that honours LGBTQI history month and our queer story. 🌈
Tickets are selling fast, so if you want to come along and celebrate you’d better grab one here!
Only reading DIVA online? You’re missing out. For more news, reviews and commentary, support queer content and buy the latest issue. It’s pretty badass, if we do say so ourselves.
