DIVA EXCLUSIVE: The Finnish pop star hits the alto with new track, Starry Skies
BY ALICIA PRYZSIENIAK
Singer-songwriter and LGBTQI advocate Saara Aalto is back with brand new ballad, Starry Skies, a track ready-made for getting us all through the soon-to-come winter nights…
Starry Skies is built upon a story of first love – Saara’s first love in fact – making the melody one which beautifully and intimately exemplifies Saara’s talent as both a songwriter and moving performer.
With a hugely successful year behind her – and one official Pride anthem under her belt – what better way to top off the year than with this, a new single, and international EP, Fairytale. (Fitting, as she is also the voice of Princess Anna in the Finnish version of Disney Europe’s Frozen 2).
After dropping this fresh new single, Saara will also perform it live for the first time(!) at HearHer Festival on 13 October 2019, leading the star nicely into her 20-date, winter tour throughout December 2019.

After working with trans youth charity Mermaids on the video to earlier release Dance Like Nobody’s Watching, Saara gained worldwide attention for her support and advocacy of the LGBTQI+ community, ranking 14 on The Independent’s annual Pride Power List – ahead of Stephen Fry and Alan Carr – as well as being nominated Media Icon Of The Year at the European Diversity Awards 2019.
“The past three years have been an absolute whirlwind,” says Saara. “I have achieved things beyond my wildest dreams and I am so excited to finally release Starry Skies.”
