On Sunday 27 July 2019, Liverpool’s annual Pride festival is back and more queerlicious than ever!

The free festival will be held at the Tithebarn Street site in Liverpool’s city centre and Pride goers will also invited join the city’s March With Pride event starting at St George’s Hall and finishing at Moorfields.

Over 50,000 people attended last year, and it’s expected that this year’s festival is going to be even bigger as Liverpool bids to become the most LGBTQI friendly city in the UK.

The recently established LCR Pride Foundation has collaborated with Liverpool Sound City and Barclays to bring a rainbow coloured festival that promises amazing music and entertainment for all.

Notably this year, Pride In Liverpool has brought in some of the coolest female artists in the industry…

Headlining is the fabulous Brit Award nominee Little Boots, who’s infectious electropop hit Remedy still has us dancing 10 years after its release, and who says that her LGBTQI fans are “extremely special” to her.

Joining Little Boots on the main stage is pop princess Saara Aalto – known for being a runner up in the 2016 series of The X Factor UK and for representing Finland in Eurovision 2018.

Saara commented, “As a lesbian artist, it means so much to me to perform and be an advocate for my community.

“Pride is such an important event, let’s raise the rainbow flag together for everybody to see.”

As well as spectacular headliners, there will also be a variety of awesome, local-to-Liverpool-shaped talent including Katy Alex, House Of Suarez and Daisy Gill.

The festival will also be bringing a huge selection of inclusive activities with a dedicated youth zone and more acts and activities to be revealed in the weeks leading up to the weekend-long celebration of love, of freedom and of identity, committed to fighting for and promoting equality!
