Five songs, handpicked by the indie heartthrob, guaranteed to put a smile on your face 😉

BY ROXY BOURDILLON

We are officially addicted to singer/songwriter/studmuffin Lots Holloway’s brand new single, Lights Come Down.

Uplifting, life-affirming and outrageously catchy, it’s the perfect sapphic soundtrack to your summer.

We asked Lots to share the meaning behind the melody, and reveal a few of her other feelgood faves…

1. Lots Holloway: Lights Come Down

“I wrote this song to uplift someone special to me, to let them know they’ll always have me and that love is always around – and now I hope it will uplift many, many more people going through a rough time.”

2. James Brown: Papa’s Got A Brand New Bag

“From the get go, this song is a mood booster! And it always reminds me of the monkeys on the PG tips advert.”

3. Katrina & The Waves: Walking On Sunshine

“Self explanatory! What better way to be lifted than to walk on sunshine?”

4. Marvin Gaye & Tammi Terrell: Ain’t No Mountain High Enough

“Their voices penetrate the soul, and inject you with positivity. This song makes me feel like I can do anything.”

5. The Kinks: Waterloo Sunset

“When I am sad or low, this is the first song I usually go to. I think it’s the opening lyrics of the chorus, ‘As long as I…’ It makes me feel as though everything will be okay, in the end.”
