Looking for queer films and shows filled with thrills and gore? We’ve got you covered!

It’s that time of year again when people celebrate the lead-up to Halloween by consuming more spine-tingling media. Whether you’re a lover of gore, psychological thrillers or apocalyptic stories, there’s something for every kind of DIVA below.
Teenage Sex And Death At Camp Miasma
A sapphic and trans slasher starring icons Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson!? What more could you want… This film from horror director extraordinaire Jane Schoenbrun is a must-watch. It’s the perfect time to watch it too, as it became available to stream on Mubi at the start of this month.
Yellowjackets
This one’s great for fans of shows with a large cast of characters, non-linear narratives and an absolutely bananas plot. If you’ve not watched it before, you’ve still got time to binge all three seasons before the final one comes out in November.
Love Lies Bleeding
Kristen Stewart and Katy O’Brian stun in this psychological thriller. This film is gay as hell and full of action. If you want an ending that will stay with you long after the final credits, this one’s for you!
Jennifer’s Body
Not seen this wonderfully bisexual horror before? Now’s your chance to rectify that, as there is finally a sequel in the works. Like many others on this list, it’s definitely a “be gay, do crime” movie.
The Last Of Us
Love zombies? Not afraid of jump scares? Love existential apocalyptic stories? If you answered yes, you’ll definitely love this video-game-to-TV adaptation. We’ll never get enough of Bella Ramsey on our screens!
The Hunting Wives
Hungry for more messy, messy gays on your screen? This is the show that took everyone by surprise. It’s addictive, fast-paced and extremely bingeable. Its second instalment comes out in November, so you’ll want to catch up by then.
Bodies Bodies Bodies
This is a funny and gory film where a group of privileged 20-somethings get stuck at a remote mansion during a hurricane. A party game goes wrong, and the party turns into a real murder mystery.
Interview With The Vampire/The Vampire Lestat
If you love vampires, you have to watch this quintessential vampy adaptation. The TV show is wonderfully queer. Its third instalment, which came out this year, was renamed The Vampire Lestat. And we’ve got good news: a fourth season is in the works.
Love media made by and for LGBTQIA+ women and gender diverse people? Then you’ll love DIVA. We’ve been spotlighting the community for over 30 years. Here’s how you can get behind queer media and keep us going for another generation: linkin.bio/ig-divamagazine
