Armed with her guitar and soulful vocals, Joy Oladokun (she/they) has become a voice of a generation. Like her
previous albums, her new record, Hope Is A Heavy Thing, articulates how it feels to be a human today. Confronting the past so you can move towards the future is a driving theme throughout the record. It’s a perfectly timed message, which will strike a chord individually and collectively. On this album, Joy asks: What are we going to do today to ensure that the future is a more hopeful one?
