The beloved queer film and TV fest returns to Manchester in August

Love queer cinema and TV? You’ll love SCENE Manchester LGBTQ+ Film & TV Festival. It’s the perfect place to meet like-minded screen buffs and to marvel at the power of queer storytelling.
This year marks the festival’s third instalment, and the programme is bigger and better than ever (which is no easy feat!). SCENE is working in partnership with Manchester Village Pride, a new community-led organisation that’s on a mission to reshape what Pride looks like in the city. Profits from ticket sales will go towards supporting five local LGBTQIA+ charities: George House Trust, Albert Kennedy Trust, The Proud Trust, LGBT Foundation and Sparkle.

Screening of Teenage Sex & Death At Camp Miasma starring Hannah Einbinder and Gillian Anderson
This year’s opening night film is this must-see trans and sapphic slasher from the director behind the phenomenal horror I Saw The TV Glow.
Screening of Russell T Davies’ Tip Toe followed by a panel
Attendees will get the chance to hear all about the making of this timely suburban thriller.
Iris Prize Best British Shorts announcement
The prestigious Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival will be announcing its shortlisted films competing for this year’s Best British Award.
Kiss & Tell… The I Kissed A Boy/Girl Story
Moderated by Charley Marlowe, hear from contestants from the reality shows about connections and unforgettable moments from the franchise.
Heartstopper Forever – In conversation with Alice Oseman
