The West London Queer Project (WLQP) is hosting a comedy show on 26 April, in honour of Lesbian Visibility Week.

On the final day of Lesbian Visibility Week, the WLQP are hosting a comedy show that takes place at the Boston Room in The George IV in Chiswick. The lineup includes UK comedians Twayna Mayne, Catherine Bohart and Sapphire Macintosh. The comedy show is intended as a celebratory close to Lesbian Visibility Week.

One of the comedians in the lineup is Twayna Mayne, a writer, stand-up comedian and LGBTQIA+ ambassador. Twayna is best known for her critically acclaimed BBC Radio 4 series, Twayna Mayne: Black Woman where she discusses her experiences growing up as a Black British woman in the UK.

Also joining the headline is Catherine Bohart, an openly bisexual Irish comedian who frequently talks about her experiences of coming out. Catherine is best known for her solo comedy shows, including Immaculate and Lemon. The final comedian joining the show is Sapphire Macintosh, a bisexual comedian who frequently incorporates her life as a Black British Northerner and her experiences in the queer comedy scene in her acts.

The West London Queer Project, hosting the comedy show, is a non-profit organisation aiming to support and give voice to LGBTQIA+ people in West London. The WLQP offers a fun, safe and inclusive space for people to connect and advocate for each other, building a community that empowers and uplifts one another.

WLQP’s comedy show is designed as a cultural event to conclude Lesbian Visibility Week. The organisers of the show describe comedy as a means of bringing people together and providing a shared social experience.

Doors open at 7:30 pm and early bird tickets currently stand priced at £12.50.

Tickets are available via wlqp.org/events.
