Spring has finally arrived – time to retire that Happiest Season TikTok edit, winter’s officially over. As flowers start to bloom and the days stretch out with a bit more sunshine, we’ve rounded up some brilliant LGBTQIA+ films and TV shows that are perfect for lighter, longer evenings.
Heartbreak High

This Aussie teen rom-com is making a comeback this spring, with its highly coveted third season on the way. Following a group of troublesome teenagers, Heartbreak High has continually raised the bar for LGBTQIA+ representation across TV. With characters that span the entire LGBTQIA+ community, this show embraces darkness and light with gusto.
Crush

If you’re already looking towards summer, this coming-of-age story is right up your street. Starring Rowan Blanchard and Auliʻi Cravalho, Crush sees a teenage girl join her high-school track team just to get close to her crush. Spoiler alert: she becomes far more interested in her crush’s twin sister!
The Half Of It

Rafiki

This colourful Kenyan drama is just one of the blossoming queer stories that have recently come out from countries where homosexuality is still illegal. Rafiki follows the story of two women who are forced to navigate their love through family and political pressures.
