The evenings are getting darker and colder. Christmas, or should I say Queermas, still feels far too far away. Whether you’re looking for some laughs, or to feel your feels, there is a range of upcoming releases to have on your radar. For some you’ll have to face the winter weather and trudge down to the cinema to experience the magic. But don’t fret, there are plenty below that you can enjoy from the cosiness of your own home.

I Wish You All The Best

This non-binary coming-of-age story is sure to hit you in your feelings. When Ben is kicked out by their parents, a transformational journey begins. Based on the much-loved novel by non-binary author Mason Deaver, this trans-directed book-to-screen adaptation has a phenomenal cast. For me, the stand-out performances came from Miles Gutierrez-Riley (Agatha All Along), Lisa Yamada (Never Have I Ever) and Lexi Underwood (Little Fires Everywhere), who all bring love, friendship and hope into Ben’s life.

In cinemas from 7 November

Come See Me In The Good Light

This poignant documentary follows poets and lovers Andrea Gibson and Megan Falley as Andrea faces their incurable cancer diagnosis. Andrea and Megan’s love story is full of joy, wit and strength. While it shows the realities of living with a terminal illness, this documentary is also full of laughter, purpose and a wonderful celebration of life.

Come See Me In The Good Light will be released on 14 November streaming globally on Apple TV+

The Christmas Writer

Tello Film have once again delivered a new WLW seasonal romcom just in time for Queermas. It’s guaranteed to leave you with those warm fuzzy feelings. So, grab your festive drink of choice and some blankets, and enjoy.

Wicked: For Good

In this eagerly awaited sequel, queer actor Cynthia Erivo and icon Ariana Grande share the big screen once more as Elphaba and Glinda, respectively. We’re all holding space for the conclusion to the two-part film adaptation of the iconic musical.

Coming to cinemas on 21 November

The only thing I care about is whether Robin gets her happily ever after.
