Taking place on 18 October at Wills Memorial Building in Bristol, The Familymakers Show brought together fertility experts with hundreds of LGBTQIA+ people to champion rainbow families.
Hosted by London Women’s Clinic in collaboration with DIVA, The Familymakers Show opened its doors to queer people who wanted to learn more about accessing fertility treatment and the options available to them. From talks about IUI and IVF to egg freezing and surrogacy, the day allowed LGBTQIA+ people to feel empowered by knowledge and make informed decisions about starting a family.

Celebrating 40 years of providing fertility treatment, London Women’s Clinic is an unparalleled source of information when it comes to learning more about fertility journeys. The Familymakers Show is just one of the ways that London Women’s Clinic have continually shown their support for the LGBTQIA+ community. As a free event, this day meant that every attendee could come to learn, soak up the atmosphere and feel connected to the community in a way that was accessible to all.
The day also hosted a number of stalls in the exhibition hall where LGBTQIA+ people could connect with London Women’s Clinic, London Sperm Bank, London Egg Bank, Kirsten Mooring and more. All these exhibitors were on hand to answer any questions that attendees had, offering advice, information and even merchandise and books to take home.

With a powerful keynote speech from former MP Hannah Bardell, and guest speakers like DIVA Charitable Trustee Kit Morey, the day was packed with LGBTQIA+ people sharing their stories and fertility journeys. Alongside learning about the different fertility options available, attendees were also able to learn more about food and fertility from Kirsten Mooring as well as how coaching and counselling can be a vital part of any journey.

To round off the day, attendees were able to mingle together at a networking event, speaking to other individuals who are on the same journey as them. Bringing together hundreds of LGBTQIA+ people meant the day was more than just a chance to learn about the fertility treatments on offer. It was a day to feel proud, seen and celebrated.
