SCENE Film Festival 2025, celebrating the best of LGBTQIA+ TV and cinema, has revealed its full line-up for Channel 4’s comedy night: An Altogether Different Comedy Night. Get ready for a night of queer comedy kicking off the festival on 15 August.
Your host this year is stand-up and television icon Stephen Bailey, set to start his tour in a month. Over the years, Stephen has presented a number of shows, including the reality show Celebs On The Farm. He will be joined by comedians Olga Koch, Eleanor Tiernan and Cecily Hitchcock. Here’s what we know about the funny bunch…
Bisexual comedian Olga Koch has won multiple awards for her stand-up, with witty stories from her childhood and many sharp jokes along the way. Next up, Irish comedian Eleanor Tiernan is renowned for her fresh and observational stand-up, performing at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival nine times. Finally, social media sensation Cecily Hitchcock brings to the stage hilarious crowd work, charm and quick comebacks to hecklers.
Get ready to get stuck in and enjoy an interactive, new and fearless comedy night. It promises to be a night of fun, surprises and a whole lot of laughs.
The comedy does not end there! On 18 August, SCENE will dedicate a night to comedy legend Victoria Wood. Expect music, drag, games, TV and classic British tribute acts.
There will also be a screening and after-show discussion of the new BBC drama What It Feels Like For A Girl on 19 August. This beautiful coming-of-age is a powerful story of self-discovery and freedom. The cast will share their personal stories and insights, making this an unforgettable evening, one sure to tug on the heartstrings.
All profits from the festival will be donated to Manchester Pride Charity, and there are many events at SCENE offering free tickets, so grab them while you can!
