The trans rights activist spoke to Rachel Shelley and Nikki Symmons on the 94% podcast

Hannah Graf MBE has recently discussed her experience in the military as a trans woman in the new episode of the 94% podcast. The former British Army officer and transgender rights activist uncovered her journey to The L Word actor Rachel Shelly and former hockey and cricket player Nikki Symmons.
Hannah came out as a transgender woman in 2013, later becoming one of the highest-ranking transgender officers serving in the British Army. In this episode, she opened up about growing up playing sports, calling herself a “Jack of all trades”, saying she practised all kinds of sports, including cricket, kayaking, and rock climbing. She also discussed how growing up playing sports helped her build confidence and improve her mental health.
The 94% podcast gives a platform for incredible women whose experiences with sports played a huge part in their life journeys. As a matter of fact, according to statistics, 94% of women in C-suite executive positions have participated in sports, half of those at the university level. The podcast has had stars such as DIVA favourite Heather Peace and media giant Pamela Drucker Man.
Hannah also opened up about participating in sports after transitioning, stating she does not take part in team sports like she used to because of the circumstances. Hannah also added that playing sports helped her adapt to the workspace, comparing the military dynamic to a sports team with the way people manage teamwork.
Hannah currently works in finance as the head of investigative reporting. She is also a patron of the trans, non-binary, and gender-diverse charity Mermaids. She lives with her husband, Jake Graf, and their two daughters.
