Queer icon Lucy Spraggan has just announced that her new album Other Sides Of The Moon will be hitting our headphones on 20 June. Marking her eighth studio album, this new project weaves reworked classics with new songs to bring listeners a completely unique experience.Ā

Fans will be able to hear revised versions of beloved songs like Sober and Tea & Toast – the track which cemented her fame on X Factor. Earlier this year, Lucy rushed to release the new imagining of her track Unsinkable after the song was featured in a montage to celebrate the audition of a choir made up of those affected by the Post Office Scandal on Britain’s Got Talent.

To mark this announcement, Lucy has gifted fans the newly reworked version of the hit track Butterflies. The song first became a fan favourite on Lucy’s 2013 album Join This Club, and now listeners can relive hearing the song for the first time again with this new version.

Speaking about the release, Lucy said: ā€œI don’t know, why but it has always been a song that resonated a lot with many of the fanbase. I wrote this song somewhere in my late teens and it’s a simple description about one of the most complex emotions; love. Looking back, I can see how young I was when I wrote this from the lyrics alone; there is a really endearing naivety to the words.ā€

Currently on her UK headline tour, Lucy is showing no signs of slowing down. This new album is just another reminder of the legacy of her music, and how her songs continue to speak to listeners across the world.
