The rumours are true and the two are in a “committed relationship”

It’s been rumoured for years, but now it’s officially confirmed – Lucy Dacus and Julien Baker are a couple. The two musicians, who made up two thirds of sapphic supergroup boygenius, are in a “committed relationship”, says Lucy.
In an interview with The New Yorker, Lucy was discussing her upcoming album, Forever Is A Feeling, which said is a “gorgeous and tender album about falling in love”. She revealed that it’s specifically about falling in love with Julien and confirmed that the two are in a relationship.
Due to the pair’s open affection with each other over the past few years, fans have long speculated about whether they are romantically involved. More recently, the rumours increased rapidly, as several lyrics in the singles already released from Forever Is A Feeling seem to blatantly be about Julien. For instance, at the end of the bridge in Best Guess, Lucy sings that the object of her affection was her “best friend before [she was] my best guess at the future”.
Lucy added that it’s not unusual for her to date friends and collaborators. She said, “It turns me on to have your minds meet on something, and be, like, ‘Oh my gosh, you said what I couldn’t say. I love your mind.’” The last sentence, coincidentally, is also a song lyric in Best Guess.
In the interview, Lucy said making the album has “been interesting, because I want to protect what is precious in my life, but also to be honest”. She added that it was perhaps healthier to start talking about the relationship openly, as doing so is accepting that it is not a fragile thing that will break easily.
The singer has previously said that Forever Is A Feeling was made after she “got kicked in the head with emotions” and dives into what it means to fall in love as an adult.
