This May, Brighton is the place to be. It’s got a beach, loads of cool shops and, for one day, The Familymakers’ Show! The show, taking place on Saturday 10 May, will celebrate the progress made over several decades to broaden access to fertility services for the LGBTQIA community and all other “modern family” forms.

The show is being put on by J D Healthcare, in collaboration with DIVA, and is a rebranding of the much loved Alternative Families Show. Tickets are already available on Eventbrite. Not only is it a celebration of the progress we’ve made but it is a chance to learn more about the resources and services available to LGBTQIA people looking to start or expand their family. The number of LGBTQIA people using assisted reproductive technology is rapidly rising, accounting for 20% of treatments. The need for a show like this has never been greater.

This year, the event will feature a series of talks and panel discussions, curated and led by DIVA. These will be put on to encourage thought-provoking discussions and introductions to the key services provided by specialists, including London Women’s Clinic, London Sperm Bank, London Egg Bank, Egg Freezing – You Do You, and Kind IVF. There will also be an exhibition of stalls with these specialists and more for private consultations and resource sharing.

Centred on the slogan of “Raising Tomorrow”, the panels, stalls and resources have been chosen to empower LGBTQIA people on their unique journeys toward parenthood.
