Chrishell Stause took to Instagram on Friday (10 January) to share a tearful update on her experience of the wildfires spreading through California. The reality TV star confirmed she, her partner G-Flip and their dog Gracie were safe.
“It was an extremely long two nights,” said Chrishell. “I’ve had no sleep.” She added that they evacuated the night before but the fire services were able to put out the fire quickly. “If it happened the night before when the winds were happening and they weren’t allowed to fly, it would’ve been a completely different story.”
The update was part of a post announcing Chrishell would appear on The Traitors US. In her caption, she said: “Swipe for a real time update from LA.” She referenced the promotional post in her update, saying she knew it was odd but thought her followers might need a little escapism. “I know here in California, we could use a little bit.”
Chrishell explained that they are still in a red zone which could mean they will have to be evacuated again. She said she was in shock but G-Flip was helping her stay focused.
The wildfires began on 7 January and have led to the displacement of more than 180,000 residents. There are a number of organisations trying to support those displaced and those trying to stop the fires. There are a number of GoFundMe pages taking donations that will go to first responders and families, and the Los Angeles Regional Food Bank is taking donations via their website, as are the Los Angeles Fire Department.
