Jennifer Beals has elated sapphics everywhere by announcing that she will be auctioning a signed copy of The L Word’s pilot script to raise money for a charity that supports LGBTQIA youth. Working with GLSEN, a non-profit which helps to create affirming learning environments for queer youth, Jennifer posted the news to Instagram.

For those of you who haven’t been consumed by The L Word for the last two decades, Jennifer Beals played the lead role of Bette, leaving sapphics in a frenzy ever since. Jennifer has always shown herself to be a fantastic ally to the LGBTQIA community, and in October this year, she announced that she was creating a queer media brand called Run-A-Muck with The L Word creator Ilene Chaiken.

Showcasing the gloriously scribbled-on script for the auction, Jennifer wrote in the caption: “Let’s give @glsen a holiday gift in thanks for the great work they do! 🎁 It is with great pleasure that I’m auctioning off an original pilot script of #thelword (originally titled Earthlings 🤷🏻‍♀️) signed by cast and the incomparable @ilenechaiken to benefit @glsen.”

“Every student has the right to a safe, supportive, LGBTQ inclusive K-12 education,” she continued. “Through their network of educators, students and local chapters, @glsen works to make this right a pervasive reality. They help schools develop comprehensive policies, supportive educators, and GSAs. These things can truly be the difference between mental well-being and devastating struggle. Let’s help them with their mission. Happy bidding!”

In particular, Jennifer zoomed in on a specific part of the pilot script where Tina and Bette started to get pretty steamy. We’re sure that will go down well with The L Word fans…

The bidding ends on 20 December, so there’s not long left to go. At the time of writing this article, the bidding is at $4,250. You can find out more here
