Nick Dumont, known for playing Jackie in the Oscar-winning film Oppenheimer, has revealed they are non-binary via their Instagram bio, which now features “they/them” pronouns.

They also update their information on the app to include their affirmed name, Nick, though their handle still includes their deadname. A representative for the actor told TMZ: “They identify as a trans masculine, non-binary person.”

The actor’s most recent post, uploaded on 3 December, has been flooded by supportive comments from fans. One simply said: “Happy coming out Nick.”

Another said: “Congrats on coming out, Nick! Enjoy being you and your newfound freedom.”

“Glad you’ve been able to come out and embrace your gender,” said a third.

Nick is the latest of a series of stars who came out as LGBTQIA this year, including Chloë Grace Moretz and Julia Fox. Their Hollywood breakthrough came last year when they were in Oppenheimer, the biopic about the father of the nuclear bomb and 2023’s Best Picture winner at the Oscars. They have also previously been in The Gifted, a show based on the X-Men comics, as Polaris, the co-founder of the Mutant Underground.
