Actor Chloë Grace Moretz has come out as a gay woman in a recent Instagram post supporting Kamala Harris.

Known for her roles in films like Carrie and Kick-Ass, Chloë candidly spoke about why she had chosen to vote early for the Democratic Party leader ahead of the US election tomorrow (5 November).

In her post, she wrote: “I voted early and I voted for Kamala Harris. There is so much on the line this election. I believe the government has no right over my body as a woman, and that the decisions over my body should come ONLY from myself and my doctor.”

“Kamala Harris will protect that for us,” she continued. “I believe in the need for legal protections that protects the LGBTQ+ community as a gay woman. We need protections in this country and to have access to the care we need and deserve. SO… Are you voting early? Let’s get a plan together to get to your polling place with your friends! This is the first time that Chloë has publicly spoken about her identity. In 2018, she starred in a film about conversion practices and their harmful effects called The Miseducation Of Cameron Post, making her a beloved star in the LGBTQIA community.

Kamala Harris’ record on LGBTQIA issues has been incredibly inspiring, and her passion for supporting the LGBTQIA community goes back to her time as District Attorney.
