Ali Bromley is quickly becoming the favourite housemate of LGBTQIA viewers in this year’s Big Brother. After opening up about her experience of coming out as a lesbian later in life, she proudly wore a t-shirt saying “trans rights are human rights” in the diary room in Monday (14 Oct) night’s episode.
The trans-flag-inspired t-shirt was received amazingly on social media, with one X user posting: “Ali wearing a trans rights are human rights I NEED HER TO WIN.” Another commented: ”Ali wearing her trans rights t-shirt for nominations because she knows she’ll get airtime front and centre of the telly – her mind.” With series 21 of the reality TV show having over 800,000 viewers, having a proud supporter of trans rights is a big and exciting move.
The psychologist shared a moment with housemates where she discussed why it took her until she was older to realise that she was a lesbian because “there was, like, no gay representation, not lesbian representation.” She stresses the importance of being seen for queer people – a lovely moment of lesbian solidarity with trans people!
We hope that this proud and vocal support for LGBTQIA issues will ensure that Ali has a good shot at winning £100,000. Fingers crossed Ali, DIVA is rooting for you!
