MyGwork, the leading global LGBTQIA business platform, has announced the return of their global virtual careers fair for LGBTQIA students and graduates. WorkFair will return on 13 November and connect students with inclusive employers around the world.
Recent studies have revealed that 70% of Gen Z LGBTQIA students and graduates do not want to work in an environment where they cannot be open about their sexuality. As the LGBTQIA community makes up more than a third of students and graduates, this is a key factor dictating which jobs those entering the workforce are looking for.
As such, WorkFair is offering a unique opportunity to explore job opportunities with companies committed to diversity and already creating safe and accepting work environments. Such employers include Sony Pictures, Warner Bros., Pfizer and LexisNexis.
LexisNexis also took part at last year’s fair. Kevin Hornish, Head of Tale and Acquisition, said: “Our participation at myGWork’s WorkFair 2024 supports our goal of attracting brilliant minds from diverse backgrounds and fostering a collaborative culture that drives innovation, cutting-edge advancements, and client success.”
The event will also include career-enhancing workshops and webinars to help LGBTQIA students around the world be well-equipped to navigate the job market. This year’s sessions include talks on women in tech, neurodiverse talent inclusion and resume and cover letter tips.
WorkFair is free for all students and graduates. More information, including how to register, can be found on their website.
DIVA magazine celebrates 30 years in print in 2024. If you like what we do, then get behind LGBTQIA media and keep us going for another generation. Your support is invaluable.
