If you have TikTok or Instagram, you may have come across this adorable couple. From sharing their IVF and pregnancy journey to cute videos of them working out together, it’s obvious how desperately in love these Norwegian wives are.

Within the last year and a half, Julie and Camilla Lorentzen have also shared raw and honest stories of their, at times, devastating fertility journey as a lesbian couple. Now, they have a baby boy, which they’ve given the precious nickname “Little Fry” after they encouraged followers to eat fries to give them luck during IVF.

To add to their application for the most badass WLW couple: they’re also renovating a house. With little experience in DIY, the couple have massively upgraded their Norwegian home, all while looking after their baby. Pride furnishings and lesbian flag-esque colourings can be found all over the house, as they’re both major LGBTQIA advocates online.

On top of this, Camilla is a personal trainer, who shares health and fitness tips on her socials. The pair are also strongly against diet culture and encourage healthy eating.

So, it’s safe to say Julie and Camilla dominate the sapphic social media landscape. But how did they fall in love and become this power couple? We’ve done some deep diving, so you don’t have to.

They met at a fitness event

In 2017, Julie and Camilla both attended a fitness event. They stayed in touch and quickly became friends. Within months, they were besties and spent 24/7 together.

They’d go climbing together, have sleepovers, go out for meals, still believing the relationship was platonic. Camilla later said in a TikTok that she really wanted to kiss Julie “but I thought this was just because we were really close friends”.

I had to jump on this trend😂😭 (camilla tells her story without interruption in this week’s YT🎥 video – it will be posted tomorrow & it’s so good)🩷

Little did she know, Julie was deeply in love with her. She came out when she was 16, but hadn’t told Camilla as she was scared she’d clock how she felt.

They move in together “as friends”

Camilla, at the time, still believed she was straight. She said: “I just couldn’t believe anyone would find out they’re gay at 30.” For reasons unrelated (but may have been a bit related), she broke off an engagement with her male partner.

Julie and Camilla moved in together in a one-bedroom flat (still platonic) in 2020. This meant they were together during the pandemic. Pretty soon, Julie confessed her feelings to Camilla after three years of being friends.

The pair struck up a romantic relationship, Camilla’s first queer partnership. She soon realised she’d had feelings for women all her life and knew she was gay.

Camilla came out on Instagram in June 2020, with pictures of her and Julie kissing, as well as reactions from friends who said they “knew it”.

They get engaged

After three months of dating, Julie proposed to Camilla and she said yes. They announced this on their Instagram and had very positive reactions:

“So beautiful.”

“I would love to hear your engagement story and see both of your rings.”

“OMG OMG OMG CONGRATULATIONS.”

They get their first “fur babies” together

One of the very important steps in a lesbian relationship – getting your first pets. They got two dogs together in 2021, whoare still thriving today.

Oh, and they bought a house together – I guess that’s an important step too!

They get married…in two countries

On 5 July 2022, the pair got married in Thailand. It was pouring with rain, so they say they’d had their perfect “The Notebook moment”. Julie was in a gorgeous black dress, while Camilla stunned in a two-piece white set.

On the beach, they declared their love for each other after two years of being together.

They also get married in Norway, their home country, with a smaller ceremony.

They start their fertility journey

In September 2022, they started IVF to try and have a baby. In October, they did their first embryo transfer. Unfortunately, in January, they announced that their baby had “stopped developing” and they miscarried.

Julie shared her devastation on her socials, creating a community of women and others who had been through the same thing. While facing various health problems, including finding out she had Coeliac disease (an autoimmune disease which means you can’t have gluten), Julie shared her thoughts and feelings during this difficult time for the couple.

In February 2023, they decided to try again. They transferred Camilla’s egg to Julie once again. In March 2023, they announced they were officially pregnant.

Their baby boy is born

On 1 November 2023, they announced on their Instagram that their baby boy had been born safely. They used a birthing pool and hired a birthing photographer to take the most stunning photos of the birth

Now, Julie is nine months postpartum, and the couple seem to be embracing family life, posting on socials about the baby, all while maintaining his privacy.
