An exciting Manchester-based celebration of LGBTQIA stories is coming this summer

Love TV and film? Love celebrating pride? Well, get ready to experience both with the Manchester LGBTQIA Film & TV Festival SCENE. With over seven days of new and classic LGBTQIA cinema and TV, screenings, Q&As, talks, celebrations and events, this summer just got a lot brighter.

When is SCENE Film Festival 2024?

Friday 16 – Thursday 22 August.

Where is SCENE Film Festival?

The weeklong festival is hosted across Manchester city centre in venues such as HOME, People’s History Museum, New Century and the Gay Village.

How much are tickets for SCENE Film Festival events?

All tickets are less than £15 with many films being £5 or free. Profits from sales will be donated to Manchester Pride Charity.

What films and programmes are being played at the festival?

Tarneit, Scaring Women At Night, TOPS, India’s First Best Trans Model Agency, Pink Flamingos, Slow and many more.

When is the Queer As Folk screening and Q&A?

16 August at 8-10 pm at New Century Hall on 34 Hanover Street. An after-party will take place in the same location straight after the event.

Where is the outdoor screen showing family-friendly films?

First Street. Each day movies such as The Wiz, Grease 2 and Xanadu will play on the big screen for free.

When is the First Dates TV screening and Q&A?

17 August from 11 am-1 pm on Ducie Street, tickets are £5.

When is the Manchester LGBTQIA walking tour?

17 August – 21 August at 1 pm, meet at Whitworth Locke. Tickets are £10.

Is the festival accessible for deaf or hearing-impaired attendees?

Selected screenings and events will feature BSL (British Sign Language) signing and English subtitles.

Some of the venues such as cinemas have induction loops or portable induction loop systems on request.

Is the festival accessible for blind or partially sighted attendees?

Some of the venues such as cinemas have infrared audio description equipment.
