The summer only gets better for Pink Pony Club popstar Chappell Roan as she makes history on the Lollapalooza stage.
The 26-year-old singer may have performed Lollapalooza’s most-attended set in history, rivalling headliners such as Megan Thee Stallion and The Killers.
While it is impossible to confirm the exact number of festival-goers who saw Chappell’s set, a spokesperson for Lollapalooza told CNN: “Chappell’s performance was the biggest daytime set we’ve ever seen. It was a magical moment.”
The unapologetically queer icon rose to fame this summer thanks to her globally successful single Good Luck Babe! earlier this year.
But despite taking her throne as IT girl of the summer, Chappell Roan is certainly no one-hit wonder…
With nearly 37 million monthly listeners on Spotify, Chappell’s recent album release titled The Rise And Fall Of A Midwest Princess is highly acclaimed, featuring in several best albums of the year lists such as Vogue and Pitchfork.
So it’s no surprise that the HOT TO GO! singer drew in a large proportion of the 110,000 daily Lollapalooza attendees.
CNN also reported that Chappell was supposed to play on a smaller stage, but interest was so high in the weeks leading up to Lollapalooza that she was moved to the main stage, swapping set times with Kesha.
The Chicago-based event saw Blink 182, The Killers, SZA, Megan Thee Stallion and Melanie Martinez as headliners.
Fans took to social media to show their support for Chappell.
