Govia Thameslink Railway (GTR) has announced that they plan to run extra trains and carriages during Brighton & Hove Pride this year to support the event. Taking place on 3 – 4 August, Pride goers can be reassured that the trains will be running to the highly anticipated event, with resilience plans in place in case industrial action falls on the weekend again.

Brighton & Hove Pride have been working closely with GTR to work out strategic route planning and ideas to boost capacity so that everyone can get to and from one of the biggest Pride events of the year.

Paul Kemp, Managing Director of Brighton & Hove Pride, said: ā€œWe welcome the news of strengthened train services and the resilience planning. We have had many months of planning meetings with GTR, and we are grateful to the whole team for committing time and effort to plan the best possible services over this summer’s Pride weekend.ā€

ā€œTrain services into our city are essential for tourism all year round, as well as for the future success of Pride. We’ve also added the option of booking protection on all Pride events for extra customer reassurance. We are excited to work more collaboratively with GTR and expect this year to be one of the best for Pride in the city.ā€

Final details such as arrangements for queue systems are expected to be published in the week of 22 July and will be found here:Ā Brighton-Pride.org/travel
