It’s been three years since Billie Eilish blew us away with her album Happier Than Ever. But the wait is over – she’s back! Set to be released on Friday 17 May, Hit Me Hard And Soft will consist of 10 new tracks.

The last piece of music Billie released was What Was I Made For, which was a single for the 2023 Blockbuster movie Barbie. Winning her yet another Oscar, she accepted the Best Song award, alongside her brother Finneas.

In a recent Instagram post, Billie said: “[We] truly could not be more proud of this album and we absolutely can’t wait for you to hear it.”

She also wrote: “[It’s] so crazy to be writing this right now, I’m nervy and excited.”

Fans have taken to Billie’s new Instagram post and have been going crazy over the news. One fan said: “Someone hit me hard because I think I’m dreaming.”

Another fan said: “We have never been so back.”

Her brother, Finneas, has been behind the scenes once again, as with every release by Billie. He has co-written the songs with Billie and produced the album.

However, Billie wasn’t too pleased when the album tracklist was leaked by Rolling Stone earlier than she was hoping. She took to Instagram, to show her anger, posting a story that read “F*ck Rolling Stone” which has now been deleted.

It is unusual for Billie to not have released any singles before the album. Ahead of her 2018 debut album release, When We All Fall Asleep, Where Do We Go? Billie released five songs before the album’s release. So, this proves to be a big shift for Billie and could be unexpected for her fans.

The 22-year-old is the 13th currently most streamed artist on Spotify, according to Chartmasters

Her last full chart-topping album was Happier than Ever, released on 6 December 2021, which has a breathtaking 113.87 million on-demand streams.
