From memes about geese to gorgeously sapphic collabs, here are our top performance moments from the Mean Girls star

Reneé Rapp is the moment. The Mean Girls and Broadway star’s debut album Snow Angel has been streamed millions of times since its release in August last year. Paired with an SNL debut and a hilarious disinterest in media training, what’s not to love?

With the sold-out UK/Ireland leg of her Snow Hard Feelings tour ending in Dublin last week (4 March), we thought we’d break down seven of our favourite moments and performances from the singer’s live shows.

Poison Poison Outro

You knew this was coming. The absolute bop that is Poison Poison was already a fan favourite pre-tour, but that iconic outro just kept getting better and better. Whether it was Reneé unintentionally sounding like a goose, or crowds screaming the expletive lyrics cathartically, we loved every second of it!

Pretty Girls

Sapphics everywhere were delighted when they heard Pretty Girls for the first time. In a story which Reneé herself describes as “the universal gay-girl experience”, the song details how a seemingly straight girl wants to experiment with the narrator.

Fans took the song to new heights after Reneé began to label herself as a lesbian, adopting the chant “No he’s not! No he can’t!” in response to the second verse as she dances around with the lesbian pride flag.

Linger

Birmingham, 28 February. Social media had been abuzz all day with rumours of Reneé changing the setlist, and fans wondering excitedly what was to come. What followed was something none of us expected. The singer-songwriter was joined by Towa Bird as they launched into a beautiful stripped-down rendition of The Cranberries classic Linger.

The performance was so well received that the song got added to the setlist for the remaining shows, with fans tweeting asking the pair for a studio version- and we definitely agree!

Tummy Hurts

“Now my tummy hurts, he’s in love with her” are words that have been streamed over 32 million times, and audiences proved that every night on the Snow Hard Feelings Tour.

Reneé’s gorgeous vocals could just about be heard over the cacophony of fans yelling the lyrics, and the noise only got louder as Towa Bird began shredding the guitar. As the pair knelt side by side their chemistry was electric and provided some of our favourite tour moments.

Fan Interactions

Reneé’s interactions with fans are undoubtedly some of the best in the business. From encouraging roaring applause after a fan told the singer about their recent top surgery, to bonding over the Lesbian Masterdoc, it’s no wonder Reneé fans are so loyal.

Even signs on balcony levels get a shoutout, as does Wendy Williams on a lesbian flag (naturally!)

Not My Fault

The hit song from Mean Girls (2024) had fans bringing the house down as Reneé exclaimed “Can a gay girl get an amen?” Whether it was pulling fan Sim on stage to rap Megan the Stallion’s verse or bringing support act Sekou out to do the job, the energy was undoubtedly infectious.

Snow Angel

The title track of Reneé’s debut album, Snow Angel served as the perfect conclusion to her stellar show. Sensational vocals poured out of Reneé as fans sang along with a beautiful tenderness, understanding the weight the song holds for many.

As the last minutes of the star’s powerhouse range rang out every night, it was clear that Reneé Rapp has cemented her place as a bold unapologetic queer superstar.
