We’re nearly at the end of 2023! This year has been one hell of a ride for LGBTQIA music, film, TV, and pretty much every else. However, we’ve not run out of steam. This week saw some of the hottest new queer releases – so let’s dive right in.
MUSIC: Reneé Rapp & Megan Thee Stallion – Not My Fault
Reneé Rapp is officially channelling Regina George. She has just dropped her new single Not My Fault featuring Megan Thee Stallion, part of the movie’s upcoming soundtrack. The album, released alongside the film on 12 January, includes tracks by cast members like Reneé as Regina George. With lyrics like “Can a gay girl get an amen?”, this song is our new favourite winter bop. Combined with Megan Thee Stallion, this song is an instant classic.

MUSIC: The Veronicas – Detox
The Veronicas’ triumphant return in October shook the music world with their electrifying single Perfect, a fierce anthem from their imminent album GOTHIC SUMMER. Hold on tight as they’ve just dropped their new track Detox, a genre-defying rollercoaster merging pop-rock and skate punk. This wild ride captures the chaos of toxic relationships, showcasing the sisters’ fearless creativity. Collaborating with BMXer-turned-director Pat Freyne, their music video channels Tarantino’s energy with explosive dance scenes.
TV: Under Pressure: The US Women’s World Cup Team
For you football fans, Netflix has just dropped a new documentary series which is right up your alley. Following the US Women’s World Cup team, the documentary gives audiences never-seen-before access to one of the biggest football teams in the world.
