Prepare to meet the bop of the summer

The singer-songwriter has collaborated with Revival to release a re-worked version of her hit song Brighter Days, with Jools Holland and GeO Gospel Choir featuring. The song, which was released today (21 July), was originally a single on her 2022 album Let’s Say For Instance, and if you thought it couldn’t get any boppier, it has.
The re-worked song has been transformed into a dance music classic by Revival. The gorgeous sounds of the GeO Gospel Choir perfectly complement Emeli’s dynamic vocals, and with the iconic Jools Holland on piano, the results are extraordinary.
On creating the re-work of the song, Emeli said “When I first heard the track I was really blown away, it really dug so deep and it really made me feel new feelings for my own song, which is very rare. Revival really brought an element of depth and soul, and I love the gospel element so much.”
Brighter Days was written by Emeli during the Covid-19 lockdown to act as a reminder that better and brighter days were ahead. The release of re-work version is now bringing this positive message to a new audience as the song crosses into new genres.
Revival, the team behind the re-work said “It was a great honour to partner with Emeli on our fourth release and turn her beautiful song Brighter Days into a dance record that we hope will uplift people around the world. When Jools Holland agreed to bring a killer piano solo to the party we were certain everyone would dance to the music.”
A record label and collective, Revival strives to inspire a love for house music and make it accessible for all. Starting as a passion project, Revival re-interprets classic songs into upbeat and uplifting dance records, with influences of soul, house, and disco.
The song was recorded at the legendary Abbey Road Studios, which was also the location for the music video. A delightful accompaniment to the song, the video exudes so much joy and positivity you won’t be able to not smile as you watch. It even contains a quick cameo of the iconic lesbian athlete, Dame Kelly Holmes.
