Tonight 600 people came together to celebrate trans people, businesses, charities and allies 🏳️⚧️

For the last five years, Trans In The City has hosted a gala that brings people and organisations together during Trans Awareness Week to celebrate trans people, businesses, charities and allies. During the day, attendees participated in insightful talks and workshops delivered by inspiring members of the community such as Eva Echo and Valentino Vecchietti.
Starting out in 2018, with only a few sponsors, Trans In The City has grown from strength to strength and tonight there were 600 people in attendance. The gala saw inspiring speeches from the likes of Trans In The City’s CEO Bobbi Pickard, PC Skye Morden and many more.
This year, DIVA magazine were thrilled and honoured to take home the Trans Inclusive Organisation award. This is a cause close to the entire teams heart. We strive to make DIVA a place where the entire LGBTQIA community is celebrated – and with the challenges facing the trans community today it is so important to us that we stand with the trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming community. #DIVAWithTheT, always.

And we were in great company with the winners celebrated tonight. Leng Montgomery was recognised as Trans Corporate Champion, Eva Echo and Katie Neeves were joint-winners of the Trans Community Champion award, Emily Waldron took home the Young Trans Community Champion award, Avril Clark was this year’s Trans Ally, Trans Aid Cymru were recognised as Trans Charity of the year and the wonderful Sue & Bob Allen and Janet & Bruce Kent received a standing ovation when they were celebrated with The CEOs Award.
A huge congratulations to all the winners and those who were shortlisted. And a huge thank you to the entire Trans In The City team for all that you do. Here’s to the next five years (and beyond).
DIVA magazine celebrates 28 years in print in 2022. If you like what we do, then get behind
