If you were a child in the early 2000s, the Italian cartoon series Winx Club was likely one of your biggest obsessions. Despite not being overtly queer, it has always attracted a large LGBTQI fandom. You won’t have to look far on the internet to find WLW or MLM fan art or fan fiction based on the show or blogs titled “Winx Club made me realise I was gay”. So in January last year, when the live action reimagining came to Netflix, I devoured the entire season in one day, no hesitation and after THAT cliffhanger, I eagerly awaited the next instalment.

Well the wait is almost over, Netflix has confirmed the next chapter will hit our screens on 16 September and have just released and official trailer.

If you’re yet to watch Fate: The Winx Saga, be warned – spoilers ahead. However, if you’re a fan of shows like The Vampire Diaries and Riverdale, you’ll definitely enjoy binge watching this.

It looks like school’s back in session, but obviously a lot has changed since the magic school, Alfea, has a new headmistress, Rosalind, at the helm. Bloom and the gang have new threats lurking in the shadows and it looks darker and more high stakes than ever.

The first season introduced viewers to Dane, a bisexual guy who’s training as a specialist. The trailer confirms that his relationship with Riven and Beatrix will be getting more screen time. But, of course, here at DIVA we are crossing our fingers that we’ll get some WLW goodness in this upcoming season.
