Pride season isn’t over just yet! We’ve had Pride celebrations take place across the UK in various locations throughout the summer, from Blackpool to St Ives. If you’d like to bring your most energetic revolutionary spirit to the south coast, then Trans Pride Brighton is taking place on 16 July.
This year, the event will be the biggest yet. Trans Pride Brighton depends on donations, and this year, they’ve raised £3000 towards the occasion. Yay! The protest march will be starting at Jubilee Square at 12:00 sharp, with Trans Pride Brighton taking place from 13:00-18:00 at Brunswick Gardens/Brunswick Square. The meeting time is 11:30am for a midday set-off. There will be a second starting point just outside the Metropole Hole for those who would prefer a shorter walk.
There’ll be an array of events throughout the day, including The Forge Comedy Club’s celebration of Trans Pride in Brighton at Ironworks Studio (18:30), Trans Pride Dance Party @ The Actors (20:00-00:00 and the official Trans Pride Brighton Afterparty by Traumfau at Concorde2 (19:30-00:00). The celebrations will be carrying over onto Sunday 17 July, notably including a Trans Pride Clothes Swap, a talk with Ghanian multidisciplinary trans activist Va-Bene Elikem Fiatsi and a Trans Pride open mic special. Plus, there’ll be a beach party! So much to look forward to.
