It’s sure to be the onscreen WLW event of the year

Our favourite historical lesbian Anne Lister (Suranne Jones) and her now wife Ann Walker (Sophie Rundle) are set to return to our screens this spring! Ten new images have been released for our first look at the highly anticipated second season and they are totally swoon-worthy.

Series two will follow the two newlyweds as all eyes are on them as the two women set up home together at Shibden Hall. How will those against the “companionship” of our favourite lesbian power couple take the news?

Gemma Whelan will of course return as Anne’s frustrated sister, alongside Gemma Jones (Aunt Anne Lister), Timothy West (Jeremy Lister). Lydia Leonard will be back as Mariana Lawton and her eyes will remain as full of longing for Anne as usual. Season two will also introduce Joanna Scanlan (The Larkins, Getting On) – who will play Anne’s outrageous former lover Isabella “Tib” Norcliffe. It’s sure to be sensational!

We can’t wait to see the show explore the real life diaries of Anne Lister which accumulated over five million words. Fingers crossed for more passionate kisses in front of the gorgeous rural landscapes of Halifax.
