Though advances have been made towards equality across the globe, progress and acceptance cannot be taken for granted: in October 2021, the UK Home Office reported a worrying increase in LGBTQI-specific hate crime. The Burberry British Diversity Awards embody the idea that everyone should be entitled to equality of opportunity and esteem. Equality and diversity are crucial both for business and society, and organisations and individuals banging the drum for these causes deserve to be celebrated.
Sponsored by Burberry, the British Diversity Awards will take place on Thursday 10 March 2022 at London’s Grand Connaught Rooms. Founded by DIVA publisher Linda Riley, the British Diversity Awards celebrate individuals, companies and organisations spearheading efforts to champion diversity and inclusion.
Erica Bourne, Chief People Officer, Burberry said: “At Burberry, we are committed to championing diversity, equity and inclusion. Valuing different perspectives and experiences enables us to enhance our creativity and foster a sense of belonging, while opening new spaces for our colleagues, customers and communities. We are delighted to be sponsoring the inaugural British Diversity Awards and supporting the chosen Charity of the Year, celebrating inspirational achievements and sharing stories that will inspire many others to be active changemakers and
allies”.
Spanning an impressive 15 categories including Community Project, Diversity Champion, Supplier Diversity and Hero of the Year, the winner of the Charity of the Year category will receive an impressive £10,000 towards their cause. Supported by headline sponsor Burberry amongst Attest, Barratt Developments Plc, Boots, DAM Health, GSK, Imperial Brands, Lockton, National Grid, University Hospitals Birmingham, Ruebik, 10x Banking and Veolia, the British Diversity Awards honour corporate efforts to further diversity and inclusion.
