Our gorgeous September cover star is none other than Jacqueline Toboni, aka Finley in The L Word: Generation Q. In a heartfelt interview with DIVA’s outgoing editor-in-chief Carrie Lyell, the actor and activist talks all things L Word, body hair and finding the courage to come out. Here’s a sneak preview.
Jacqueline on…
The L Word
“I’ve always loved the show, and so being able to be on it is surreal. Sometimes, you’ll get complacent seeing Kate, Leisha and Jennifer at work every day, and then one moment it’ll just hit you and you’ll be like, ‘Oh my god’. It’s pretty crazy.”
Coming out
“I couldn’t be happier that I came out. Best ‘decision’ that I ever made… I feel such an immense sense of pride that I am where I am in my personal life in accepting myself. I’m so proud of myself that I came out, because it was really scary.”
Embracing her authentic self
“The universe, through roles, was telling me, ‘Embrace yourself, embrace yourself, embrace yourself’.”
