No Kids is the latest thought-provoking, autobiographical play from the multi award-winning Bristol-based company, Ad Infinitum, where the characters ask:
“Should we have kids, or not?”
A real-life, same-sex couple, Nir and George try to answer a question many of us in the LGBTQI+ community face.
Every consideration – adoption, surrogacy, co-parenting, the environmental impact of childbirth, the fears and anxieties, how the past affects parenting and much, much more – brings with it a succession of ethical challenges.
In the show, Nir and George open up about their experiences when they were young as gay men including bullying and family reactions to coming out.
This also forms part of Nir and George’s questioning as to whether to bring a child into their same-sex relationship…
To both celebrate the launch of the show and bring discussions of same-sex parenting and homophobic bullying to the fore, Battersea Arts Centre are putting on an after-show panel.
Featuring Sharan Dhaliwhal, Josh Bradlow, DIVA’s Linda Riley and Cliff Joannou, the panel aims to open up some the questions, real-life experiences and truths surrounding the themes explored in the play and the lives of their panelists.
