We are so ready for this!

The L Word fans, get ready! Kate Moennig and Leisha Hailey’s bestselling book So Gay For You is being adapted into a series. Yes, you read that right.

Developed by Charlie Covell, the book will serve as inspiration for a series at Amazon MGM Studios. Both Kate and Leisha will star in the new series and executive produce. The focus of the series will be on Kate and Leisha’s life post-The L Word and their decades-long friendship.

Known in their iconic roles as Shane McCutcheon and Alice Pieszecki, Kate and Leisha have been serving up LGBTQIA+ visibility and representation since the launch of The L Word in 2004. Since the show, the pair have also hosted their own podcast together, PANTS, and last year they published their joint memoir So Gay For You.

The book covers everything from their experience making The L Word to their real-life loves and losses. It is also an ode to Kate and Leisha’s friendship and the power of chosen family, something LGBTQIA+ readers will relate all too well to.

Charlie Covell will act as the series’ creator, showrunner and executive producer. Best known for their adaptation of Channel 4’s The End Of The F***ing World and Netflix’s Kaos, we have a feeling this series is in safe hands.

Posting to Instagram, Kate wrote: “Secret is finally out! I love this dream team of collaborators I get to work beside.” To this, Leisha replied: “Can’t wait to do this with you.”

And we can’t wait to find out more!
