Directed by Millicent Hailes, the lesbian romance Perfect has already been getting audiences hot under the collar at the SXSW Film Festival. With a cast list that includes Julia Fox, Ashley Moore, Kate Moennig, and Lío Mehiel, it’s sure to send sapphics feral.

Ashley Moore takes on the role of Kai, a drifter who gets stuck in a desert town during a global shortage of clean water. Her life changes drastically when she comes across Mallory – played by Fox – which begins a rollercoaster ride of love… and lots of sex.

As reported by Deadline, Millicent wanted to make a queer film “that uplifts queer voices”. The director added that Perfect is “not necessarily about [the character’s] queerness. They are just existing in this world, and they happen to be queer.”

In the teaser clip released, audiences can see several sweaty, spicy scenes between characters, including a whole lot of cunnilingus, some panty sniffing and pregnant sex.

Speaking to the audience at SXSW Film Festival, Millicent Hailes said: “It’s just hot, cunt, sexy, sweaty, fun.” Ashley Moore added: “Leave horny, people! Leave horny.”

As reported by Variety, Julia spoke more about the complexity of the storyline between Kai and Mallory. “The amount of nuance in this film could be three films long,” she said. The queer icon also spoke highly of her co-star, Ashley, who is taking on her first lead role: “A star is born.”

Last year, Julia said that she identifies as pansexual, saying that she “could be attracted to anyone and anything”.

Perfect is a sales title at SXSW and is currently seeking buyers.
