The nights are getting colder, and the festive jingle of Christmas songs can be heard every time you leave the house. Chances are, when looking for a seasonal film to cosy up to and get you in the festive mood, you may have stumbled upon Oh. What. Fun. on Prime Video. The film has a star-studded cast, including the queer star Chloë Grace Moretz, who plays Michelle Pfeiffer’s sapphic daughter in the flick. If you’re now looking for more lesbian, sapphic and queer rep on your screens this winter, then you’ve come to the right place.

The Christmas Baby

This one’s perfect for fans of Wynonna Earp, as it stars Katherine Barrell, who played Nicole Haught (who is one half of the DIVA-fave ship #WayHaught) in the supernatural show. The Christmas Baby is a hallmark film coming out on 21 December. And as Katherine said on her Instagram post: “If this doesn’t make your heart sing with joy then I’ve got nothing left to help you.”

The Christmas Writer

Next up, we have the latest WLW festive offering from Tello Films and director Christin Baker. It is sure to warm even the Grinch-iest of hearts. It’s the perfect viewing experience for lesbian book lovers.

The films follows Noel (aka THE lesbian Christmas novelist). She’s grieving the loss of her Christmas-obsessed mum, she’s healing from a breakup and she’s got a serious case of writer’s block. After a meet-cute with a charming bookstore owner, Noel has to decide if she’s open for love.

A Holiday I Do

Another offering from Tello Films, this film stars Lindsay Hicks and Rivkah Reyes in an opposites-attract festive romance. It’s a personal favourite of mine and could definitely be enjoyed by many a DIVA year after year. It’s sure to make the Yuletide gay for you this season.

The Firefighter’s Christmas Wish

I mean, who wouldn’t want to cosy up with a cup of mulled wine and watch a film about gay firefighters? And this one’s got a lot of heart. We follow Dani (Holly Deveaux), who rescues a family just before Christmas. She reignites her late mother’s fundraiser to help the community just before Christmas. While she’s saving Christmas, she may get a little distracted by a cute photographer named Sasha (Kyana Teresa).

Under The Christmas Tree

This one made queerstory as Lifetime’s first-ever lesbian Christmas film. It’s full of romance and fuzzy feelings. Alma (Elise Bauman) and Charlie (Tattiawna Jones) meet when Charlie finds the perfect tree for the Mainse governor’s holiday celebration right in Alma’s backyard. Now that’s a meet-cute.

Happiest Season

If you’re queer and like Christmas movies, you’ve almost definitely already seen this one. But we have to, of course, feature this on this list. I mean who wouldn’t want to watch a holi-gay film starring Kristen Stewart and Aubrey Plaza?! And yes, I am one of the people who shipped Abby and Riley throughout.
