For the last eight years, Trans In The City has hosted an awards gala that brings people together to celebrate individuals and organisations who are driving real change when it comes to trans inclusivity. With 2025 being a particularly challenging year for the trans+ community, this year’s gala was even more vital. Taking place on Friday 14 November, attendees gathered to celebrate this year’s nominees and winners.
Employment law specialist Robin White took home the prestigious CEO Award. Robin has made significant contributions toward transgender equality. She has advised extensively on trans matters and acted in a wide range of cases for both trans employers and employees. “If I’ve been able to give a little back [through her work], particularly to the trans community, then that’s been a real pleasure in life. Receiving this award overwhelms me. But don’t worry, I don’t regard it as a time to stop. I’ll be out there fighting every day that I have left,” Robin said on receiving the award.
It’s been a relentless year for trans+ individuals in the UK. This is why many in the community have appreciated the way Good Law Project has stood by the trans+ community and fought for our rights and freedom. Their Community Service Award win was very much deserved. Trans In The City CEO Bobbi Pickard said: “The Good Law Project’s work for many years, but especially this year, has been a shining beacon of hope and a stalwart protector for the trans community – being able to recognise this and celebrate them is a joy and so very deserved.”
And we were delighted to see former DIVA executive director Nancy Kelley awarded the Trans Ally award. It was great to see Nancy’s work as an award-wining human rights and social justice campaigner to be recognised at such an event.
Winners from other categories include Adelle Barker, Out And Wild Festival, Dewi Emberton, Carys Daniels, Jay and Carla – Primavera, Vic Valentine, Lauren Dempsey and Saskhia Menendez.
