There’s never before been as many out and proud sapphic and queer musicians in the spotlight as there are right now. Not only do we get to hear more songs about lesbian, sapphic and queer love and sex, but also, heartbreak. November not only ushers in the start of winter, but also, the start of what many have dubbed “breakup season”. So there’s a high chance that there are many heartbroken DIVA readers who might be reading this right now (or soon). Going through and getting over breakups is never easy. You can’t rush yourself through it. But music can be great medicine. So, we’ve made you a playlist to help get you through it.
Coming up, you can hear what many have called the ultimate lesbian heartbreak ballad, The Subway by Chappell Roan. We also have songs like MUNA’s The One Who Got Away, for those who need to boost their self-confidence post breakup. For those getting over a messy on-again-off-again relationship, girl in red is sure to hit you in the feels with bad idea!. A queer breakup playlist would also be incomplete without the likes of Syd, Lucy Dacus, Phoebe Bridgers, FLETCHER and Conan Gray.
So, without further ado, welcome to the playlist. And remember: this too shall pass.
