We attended the 19th edition of the Iris Prize LGBTQ+ Film Festival
The much-loved film festival often dubbed “the queer Oscars” or the “Quaftas” (the queer BAFTAs), returned with a wonderful programme full of LGBTQIA+ films. We think DIVAs would have particularly loved the screenings of Lesbian Space Princess and 3000 Lesbians Go To York.
Aubrey Plaza gave us all sapphic panic again
Netflix’s The Hunting Wives has become a favourite among many LGBTQIA+ viewers. And SNL certainly knew what they were doing to sapphics around the world when it cast bisexual star Aubrey Plaza in it’s parody of the hit show.
PygĀ by Pip Landers-Letts named winner of the 2025 Kindle Storyteller AwardĀ
We love to see a sapphic book with a lesbian main character that was penned by a queer woman receive this much-deserved recognition. Want to learn more about the book? You can read Pip’s piece on penning a sapphic story about transformation and hope down below.
Lucy Dacus married four queer couples on TV in a powerful statement against the recent attack on same-sex marriage
This month Lucy married four couples during her performance of Best Guess on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and took to Instagram to celebrate this alongside the end of her tour. The caption read: āMaybe some people got to see their first gay wedding and noticed the world did not crumble under their feet lol.ā
Pssst… here’s some must-see LGBTQIA+ releases
From Hedda starring Tessa Thompson to After The Hunt starring Ayo Edebiri, there’s so much to see.
Want to take Spooky Season all the way up to Queermas?

Sapphics got hot under the collar for ReneĆ© Rapp‘s collab with The L Word’s Jennifer Beals
