If you’re yet to have tuned in to an episode of Married At First Sight UK (MAFS UK), well, where have you been? The hugely popular reality TV show has garnered a huge fan base due to its interesting experiment: 18 contestants will walk down the aisle to say “I do”. The catch? They’ve never met the person they are about to marry and embark on a newlywedded life with.

In recent years, the show has also served up LGBTQIA+ representation, such as lesbian golden couple Jenna Robinson and Zoe Clifton, and the show’s first trans bride Ella Morgan.

Suffice to say, we’re all ready to see more tense dinner parties, to hear hot takes from the show’s experts Paul C Brunson, Mel Schilling and Charlene Douglas, and to get to know the newlyweds. Here’s everything we know so far…

When does MAFS UK 2025 start?

The show will return to E4 on Sunday 21 September at 9pm. Yes, that’s right. This is different from previous seasons where the show usually began on a Monday. So, get ready for your Sunday night to be sorted!

How long will it run for?

MAFS UK 2024 ran from Monday 16 September to Tuesday 12 November, with reunion episodes airing on both 13 and 14 November. That meant a total of 36 episodes, not including the reunions. The 2023 series ran for the same number of episodes. So it would be safe to assume we can expect the same this time around.

Who are the LGBTQIA+ contestants on the lineup this time around?

This time around, we are getting not one, but two LGBTQIA+ couples. Leah, 35, from Liverpool, is one of the sapphics starring this time around. She “doesn’t take herself too seriously” and enjoys sports and travel. Leigh, 30, from Romford, loves all things glam and has been single for a year following a broken engagement. Could these two make it work?

We’ll also see Davide, 33, from Portugal, exchange bows with Keye, 33, from London. The former is recovering from heartbreak and the latter is a marketing manager on a journey of personal self-discovery.

DIVA magazine celebrates 31 years in print in 2025. If you like what we do, then get behind LGBTQIA+ media and keep us going for another generation. Your support is invaluable.
