For our first-ever butch issue, our cover story traces the history of the revolutionary lesbian night Butch, Please!

Over the last decade, the lesbian night Butch, Please! – founded by Tabs Benjamin – has provided a safe space for butches and butch appreciators to come together and party, protest and take action.
To celebrate the movement’s anniversary, DIVA staff writer Ella Gauci takes our readers on a (very butch) trip down memory lane to track the way that the revolutionary Butch, Please! changed everything. Ella speaks to the founder and the amazing people who are part of Butch, Please! and its powerful legacy.
