It’s been a big year for the BAFTA-nominated powerhouse

It’s been a big year for gay comedian, actor, writer (and self-described prick) Rosie Jones. She co-wrote and starred in her first-ever sitcom, Pushers, which is now out on Channel 4. In the show, viewers get to see Rosie play Emily, a woman who loses her disability benefits and finds herself dealing drugs and exploiting systematic biases and prejudices against her cerebral palsy. Pushers offers refreshing and much-needed representation with its predominantly disabled cast. The show has already received rave reviews and has struck a chord with many.

Not only is Rosie showing off her acting chops, she’s also getting ready to hit the road this autumn for her I Can’t Tell What She’s Saying UK tour. In hew brand new stand-up show the Taskmaster star will address her single relationship status, the pressures of representing huge sections of the population, gravy.

The show will also, of course, talk about boobs. It wouldn’t be a Rosie Jones show without boobs now, would it? She’s a comic who can build ab-building laughter through both life’s big issues and the more lighthearted stuff. Avid DIVA readers will remember that in her January 2022 cover story with our magazine she told editor-in-chief Roxy Bourdillon that: “It’s so important for me to not only tell jokes about dating and my boobs and how boring my parents are. I don’t need to choose whether I’m a comedian or a campaigner. I can do both.”

And as if this wasn’t all enough, Rosie’s proving that she’s a woman who can do it all as she’s also launched The Rosie Jones Foundation (rosiejonesfoundation.com). The organisation is: “on a mission to empower lives and change minds.  It is taking a stand against isolation and prioritising inclusion. This begins with two key priorities: ensuring access to appropriate, lived experience-led mental health support for individuals living with cerebral palsy and fostering community connection and peer support through events and workshops.”

Psst… if you want more Rosie in your life, be sure to keep your eyes peeled for our August/September issue, which will be available to buy soon.

Pushers is available to watch on Channel 4 now. You can see the tour schedule and buy tickets for Rosie Jones: I Can’t Tell What She’s Saying at rosiejonescomedy.com
